"I believe that we should all be able to interact with a screen in a simple, understandable and pleasant way."

If you could only read one sentence

If you had to remember an idea of why I do what I do, I would like it to be the one at the top of this page.

But hold on! I’ve already started talking about what I do and I haven’t told you who I am.

Hi there!

My name is Virginia and I work in the user experience field aka UX (the term is a mouthful, I know).

I began my career as a designer but now I also write content that guides users while they interact with a screen. And this is called UX writing (another term for you).

How did I get into this field?

At the age of 28 I dropped everything and move to Scotland to study at university, Digital Interactive Design (still with the weird names, I know).

I soaked myself in UX, Service Design, Innovation, Usability, Communication…. Those 4 years changed everything, also on a personal level.

It changed my concept of rain (notice the word soak reference), my average leve of English with which I arrived, and my concept of tea (if you read this in the early afternoon, here I am on the other side, with my cuppa).

Since then I have been working for more than 6 years in all things UX, UX writing and some incursions into Service Design and Innovation. In both English and Spanish.

Helping brands of all sizes to humanise their content and to simplify their digital experiences.

So...

are you then a designer who writers or a writer who designs?

If we were having a coffee (I also drink coffee), I would answer your: both.

Cannot conceive one without the other.

I use UX writing and storytelling to write conversational, clear and simple content.

But I also use UX to design digital experiences that are easy to use.

At the end, the goal is to get them to say, read you and connect with you.

And since this is an about me page after all...

10 personal things about me:

I like lists.

Wanna guess my age? I’m old enough to know where the Word’s save icon comes from.

Another clue: I have known the Internet without Google.

Basically, I’m from the best generation. The 80s.

I’m a series geek.

And a music one too. I’m one of those people who, if they like a song, listen to it over and over again non-stop.

I’ve lived abroad for 8 years. First in Scotland, then in Germany.

I’m incapable of pronouncing Scotland without an Scottish accent. And in Germany I learned how to pronounce the Terminator’s surname.

I’m originally from Madrid but I currently live in Zaragoza. With my husband, my two kids and my two cats.

I love to travel and I have traveled all over Europe with a backpack on my back. I find airports fascinating places.

I can type without looking at the keyboard and talk about something else at the same time.

¿How about we chat over coffee?

I currently live in Zaragoza but I've been working remotely for years so we could either have a coffee in person or virtually.
